Brief History:

InuYasha was born the illegitimate son of military man turned corporate head Inutaisho Kikuchi. His mother and father had carried on a relationship in secret, and InuYasha was fourteen years old before anyone but his parents knew. It was a bit of a nasty surprise for Inutaisho's wife and son when he died and a quarter of his estate was left to a strange woman and her teenage son.

Needless to say, InuYasha and his half-brother do not get along very well at all. InuYasha does not keep contact with his 'family', and wouldn't hesitate to talk badly about his brother.

Shortly following his eighteenth birthday, InuYasha's mother, Izayoi, passed away from complications due to a heart disorder she had had since birth. Thanks to the money left by his mother and father and the money earned at his job as security at Strich-9, he's been able to live in an apartment and fund his hobbies - Fighting, and fixing/building motorcycles.

For his whole life, InuYasha's gotten into trouble. He dropped out of high school, and fought nearly every day while in school, and this lifestyle continued into adulthood. He has a reputation for it around the city, but had always found himself standing up for people who couldn't stand up for themselves, and indeed has even taken it upon himself to end many fights he wasn't even involved in to begin with.

For a year, InuYasha had a relationship with a young woman named Kikyo. He loved her dearly, though he wouldn't admit to anyone how important she was to him. Eventually, due to a misunderstanding, they found themselves in the middle of an ugly breakup. He's had difficulty trusting people ever since.

Personality

InuYasha has a very rough exterior. He's not very friendly, swears all the time, and will pick a fight at the slightest provocation. He doesn't forge relationships well at all, and prefers not to have to deal with other people for the most part. There are very few people that he can tolerate, and he won't hesitate to tell someone what he thinks of them - So long as it's something rude. If he does like someone, he's hesitant to say anything for fear of rejection. Just don't expect him to admit that. He is easily irritated and has next to no patience with anyone.

Despite his rough exterior, InuYasha is incredibly loyal and even a bit sensitive when it comes to situations with people he cares about. Something that might be completely inconsequential, when from the mouth of someone he loves, could hurt him deeply and cause him to retreat even deeper into his anti-social shell. He blushes easily and can even be very childish at times. What morals he does have are strong. He willingly stands up for people who cannot stand up for themselves, and even makes an effort (though he's bad at it) to be kind to small children, despite the fact that he has trouble relating. He has a soft spot for quiet girls, but cannot, cannot handle loud ones.
